Take a walk through history in Miami's Art Deco Historical Dsitrict. This neighborhood has over 800 homes that are nationally recognized as important pieces of cultural heritage for America. Styles range from classic to modern, but all are impressive and provides a perfect daytime destination.

Where is the Art Deco Historical District?

You can find the Art Deco District in downtown Miami! Look between 23rd and 5th streets and along Collins and Washington Avenues and Ocean Drive. After taking some time to take in the sights, Miami Boat Cruises is located nearby in Biscayne Bay.

What Is Art Deco?

Art Deco architecture can be identified by its pastel colors and bright paints, garden fountains and manicured gardens, and ornate windows. Along with the hundreds of homes built in this style, their are plenty of hotels and larger buildings that also represent the Art Deco movement.

Why is the Art Deco District So Popular?

The Art Deco style that made itself popular in Miami was actually inspired by a similar movement spreading across Europe earlier in the century. While there are many different preferences and stylistic choices architects make when designing buildings, the common features shared between them created an atmosphere that people enjoy. While the buildings were built decades ago, they are still preserved by dedicated preservationists and can still be enjoyed by people today.
